On May 16, the Triangle Coalition hosted a Capitol Hill briefing/luncheon featuring a presentation by the University of Idaho and the University of Alabama on the Interactive Learning Environment (ILE) Project and its partner project, the National Center for Online Learning Research (NCOLR). These programs are funded by the Department of Education and are focused on the research and development of best practices in online education, particularly higher education. Highlights of the presentation included information on current research on online learning, best practices in online teaching, the impact of online learning on rural Idaho schools, and present and future interactive learning environments.
