RIANGLE COALITION JOINS NSTA AND NCTM IN NEW PARTNERSHIP

The Triangle Coalition for Science and Technology Education, in collaboration with the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) and the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics(NCTM), is seeking support from the National Science Foundation to develop a needs assessment toolkit for teachers and schools. The Elementary and Secondary Education Act, recently passed by Congress, requires districts to conduct a professional development needs assessment as part of the application process for federal professional development funding. The toolkit would be made available to school districts across the country in an effort to assist them in preparing applications for federal support and to help them align professional development programs with the most critical needs of teachers.
