The Fellows were the guests of honor at the annual Holiday gathering. Fellows, along with their supervisors, Triangle staff and DOE staff, gathered at an Arlington restaurant for an evening of food and celebration.

Several Fellows attended the Mole Day (October 23, 2007) American Chemical Society Reception. Einstein Fellows had the opportunity to meet and listen to a lecture by Norm Augustine, the chairman of the committee that wrote "Rising Above the Gathering Storm". Many of his education initiatives were aimed at teacher training, professional development, and greater incentives for recruitment and retention of teachers. Einstein Fellow at NOAA, Judy Reeves says, "He was very gracious to us; told us "Teachers are MY heroes." Terrific man." At the Koshland Science Museum, Judy Reeves, Einstein Fellow at NOAA, tries on an arctic survival suit designed for immersion in polar water. Judy says, "On the NOAA ships, they're called "Gumby suits" for obvious reasons!"

In September, Einstein Fellows toured the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility in Newport News, Virginia.
