The Alabama Mathematics, Science, Technology, and Engineering Coalition (AMSTEC) was incorporated in 1998 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The organization was created out of a NASA funded Linking Leaders Program.  AMSTEC is a statewide group of business and education leaders working to identify and increase support for the delivery of quality education in STEM – science, technology, engineering, and math – for all Alabamians, pre-kindergarten through college.  As the largest STEM advocacy organization in Alabama,  AMSTEC’s mission is to prepare Alabama citizens to be productive in a technologically literate society by providing public information and awareness; and generating public support for math, science, engineering, and technology curricula.  AMSTEC engages with a variety of organizations to influence policy and help ensure that quality STEM education become commonplace and accessible for all students in Alabama.
