The Museum Institute For Teaching Science (MITS), was founded in 1983 as a non-profit organization with the mission of strengthening the teaching of elementary science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The MITS objective is to increase the percent of students interested in pursuing STEM careers and to foster science literacy amongst all students so that there will be a workforce able to provide the talent needed by innovative, high-tech firms.
