The Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics (OCTM) is an affiliate of NCTM. OCTM promotes excellence in teaching mathematics in elementary, middle, junior high and senior high schools, and universities. OCTM invites its members to attend an annual conference planned by its members to be full of workshops and presentations led by state and national leaders in the field of mathematics education. OCTM also provides opportunities for members to meet and get to know their colleagues from around Ohio. OCTM publishes a journal and a newsletter to provide members with classroom ideas and to keep them aware of what is happening in mathematics education both locally and at the state level. OCTM works in a partnership with the Ohio Department of Education to promote and development standards and curriculum.
