Vernier Software & Technology is the leader in the development of data collection tools and software for science and math educators. Since 1981 their products have been highly regarded for their ease of use, reliability, and affordability.  The company has grown considerably from its start in 1981, by a physics teacher in his garage. It now provides a complete solution for data collection needs, including software, lab interfaces, sensors, lab books, and training. The subjects they cover include physics, chemistry, biology, Earth science, physical science, middle school science, mathematics, and water quality testing.

In 2002, the company put a major emphasis on software development, with a team of 10 programmers.  And they continue to improve and develop new programs for data collection with TI handhelds. The company's engineering and product design teams have been busy with new sensors, including a Force Plate, UV Sensors, Drop Counter, and Surface Temperature Sensor. They also published two new Earth science lab books and a book for Palm OS users, Science with Handhelds.
